Who can do the MOET Course
The following people are eligible to do the MOET course:
- Obstetricians at the level of consultant (FRANZCOG or equivalent) or obstetric registrars in their 5th or 6th year, who have satisfactorily completed both written and OSCE components of the MRANZCOG examination
- Anaesthetists at the level of consultant (FANZCA or equivalent) or anaesthetic registrars in their 5th year, who have satisfactorily completed both written and OSCE components of the ANZCA Part 2 examination
- Emergency Physicians at the level of consultant (FACEM or equivalent) or emergency registrars in their 5th year, who have satisfactorily completed both written and OSCE components of the ACEM examination
- GP anaesthetists and GP obstetricians with both FRACGP (or equivalent) and Diploma in obstetrics or anaesthetics, who are currently involved in clinical obstetrics or anaesthetics as a significant component of their routine clinical work
- Other medical practitioners at the level of Fellow or senior registrar may apply to ALSG to register for the MOET Course
- Midwives may attend the course as observers. They pay a greatly reduced registration fee and attend all aspects of the course, however they are not required to run the scenarios and do not sit the MOET examination
